SOLDIER:
READY FOR WAR
They’re an elite fighting unit like no other – steeped in tradition, primed
for battle, and ready to die for King and Country. If Britain goes to war
in Eastern Europe, these brave men and women will be on the frontline,
laying down their lives to protect our cherished freedoms.
Soldier: Ready for War offers unprecedented access to the Royal
Welsh, one of Britain’s most decorated armoured infantry units, as they
live and train, ready to be called up at a moment’s notice to join the war in
Eastern Europe. When the going gets tough, these are the guys you call.
For six months, our cameras follow the 1st Battalion Royal Welsh as
they live, work and train, preparing for a war that looks likelier every day.
We follow every trial, every tradition and every triumph, and witness the
pride and the honour of serving in this incredible Regiment.

SECRETS OF
FLYING SCOTSMAN
Flying Scotsman is the world’s most famous steam locomotive. Built in
1923 it quickly became a symbol of the elegance of the Golden Age of
steam – and an enduring example of British design and engineering.
This is the extraordinary story of how Flying Scotsman became the first
steam train ever to reach 100mph – and the dramatic events, over more
than a century that earned it a place in the hearts of the nation and
enthralled an army of fans around the world.
Today, more than a century after Scotsman was built, years of
painstaking restoration means the engine is still steaming across the
UK – and enchanting a whole new generation of fans.
